All arrivals and departures must be booked for an agreed date and within our opening times as above.
The check-in process can take between 10-20 minutes depending on how much time you would like to settle in your cat.  Please allow for this and arrive with us in good time.
We can be tricky to find the first time, especially as some Satnavs take you past the cattery by approximately 400m.  Please check out the directions on the website and please do call us if you get lost. The southwest bound M3 & A303 can get busy, especially on sunny bank holiday weekends, so please leave extra time.
If you are running late and may miss the opening time, please let us know as early as possible. This will maximise the possibility that the staff member on duty is able to make arrangements to wait for your arrival. Please note a charge of £10 per hour may be made to cover their overtime wages.
Cats have a 6th sense and know when they are about to be placed in a cat basket and travelled in a car.  It is sensible to keep your cat indoors the night before your booking and please do not let them out for a quick outside wander before its time to bring them in.

Medical Health

Only cats from the same family may share a suite.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you cat will require medication.

All cats boarding must be vaccinated against Infectious Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu and vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival. This vaccine is given by a vet annually. A valid vaccination certificate must be produced in advance or on arrival. Failure to produce this will prevent us from accepting your cat.

The cattery reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon. Owners will appreciate that this is essential to safeguard the health of all cats boarded.  No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from, any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted.

We request that all cats boarding have been treated against external parasites such as fleas and worms. An effective vet-recommended flea treatment must be applied every 4 weeks and wormer at least every 6 months. If your cat is not on a regular programme, please apply a flea treatment and administer an appropriate worming treatment before your cat arrives.
If your cat is an indoor cat, please feel free to discuss specific requirements with us.

If we find that a cat boarding with us has arrived with fleas and/or worms, we will administer an appropriate treatment and you will be charged accordingly.

We will ask for your written consent to take your cat to a veterinary surgeon on your behalf should we consider it necessary.  The consultation and any treatment considered advisable will be carried out at the owner's expense. We shall of course try to contact you to discuss the situation with you in the first instance and throughout.

Cats over the age of 6 months which have not been neutered cannot be accepted for boarding unless discussed and agreed in advanced with the cattery owner.

Payments

Boarding fees are charged per day, including the day of arrival and the day departure.  This is because most clients prefer the flexibility of not being restricted to arrive in the afternoons and collect in the morning, so suites are booked out for your cat for the whole of both the arrival and departure days.
Payment of fees should be made within a week of departure, or in the case of long term boarding monthly.
Our preferred method of payment is cash. Alternatively payments can be made by BACS or Cheque payable to Coxford Down Cattery Ltd.
In the event of owners returning before the end of the period for which the cat is booked we reserve the right to charge for the full period.
Any additional costs incurred by us, such as flea treatments, late arrival charges etc are payable upon collection of your cat.

Deposit and Cancellation policy

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure all bookings. Your booking is not secure until this payment has been made to us and we have confirmed the booking to you.

It is our intention to retain this deposit if you unfortunately need to cancel your booking for any reason, including due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Full payment is due if a cancelation is made with less than 3 day’s notice to the start of the booking.
If your cat does not arrive for the first booked day of their stay and we have not heard from you, we reserve the right to re-book the reserved suite.

CatCams

We do our very best to make sure the CatCams are working so you can check in on your cats whilst you are away on your holiday, however due to our location our internet connection can at times be temperamental.  We are also aware that they do not work with all software systems.  We therefore can’t guarantee the availability of the Catcams, and as a result we make no extra charge for this service.
We apologise in advance if the Catcams are not available.

Failure to collect a Cat

If any cat is not collected within 21 days after the scheduled end of their stay, we reserve the right to rehome the cat.  We shall of course try to accommodate exceptional circumstances.

Force Majeure

We have contingencies in place to minimise the possibility of unforeseen problems, for example; several staff members who live locally, measures in place to cope with heavy snow and a back-up generator to use in the event power failure. However, we shall not be liable for any failures in performance resulting from reasons beyond our control.
